The Opportunity

Our client is a mid-sized public accounting firm looking for a Senior Accountant (CA) with a minimum of 3-5 years plus public practice experience.

You will be comfortable performing audits, reviews and notice to reader engagements, and you will be comfortable dealing with client tax issues - both personal and corporate.

The partners are friendly, down to earth individuals who often eat lunch with the staff in the kitchen, and are readily accessible to their team.

You will:

• Co-ordinate the completion of audit, review and compilation engagements of financial statements for Owner-Manager Businesses including the review of corporate and personal income tax returns.
• Possess ability to offer proactive business advice to clients to guide them in managing opportunities and reducing exposure.
• Participate in various consulting engagements.
• Participate in marketing functions and activities.
• Identify and develop new opportunities for additional accounting and consulting services.
• Mentor and coach junior and senior team members.
  

Qualifications and Competencies:

• Minimum 3 -5 years post UFE experience
• Must have public accounting audit experience, preferably in a small to mid-size firm.
• Solid corporate and personal taxation knowledge.
• Demonstrated technical accounting skills.
• Strong client service and communication skills, both verbally and written.
• Ability to supervise and mentor junior team members to assist in their development and growth.
• In depth knowledge of Caseware, advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word are required.
• You have strong technical capabilities in accounting and thrive in a team environment and coaching culture.
• You are a career-oriented individual, you have strong multi-tasking, business relationship and leadership skills.
• You are a self-starter with exceptional problem-solving skills.
• You are a proven and self-confidence professional.
